Where to look (the actual platforms that work)
We don't run our own directory. (We're an honest guide, not a marketplace pretending to verify entertainers.) Here's where to actually search — with the things each one is good and bad at.

Don't sleep on local Facebook groups
The single best source for high-quality, lower-priced local entertainers is your town's parents' Facebook group. Ask "anyone recommend a kids' bubble party entertainer?" and you'll get four names with stories attached. That beats any directory's star rating.
Also worth searching: Nextdoor, local Instagram hashtags like #[yourcity]kidsentertainer, and Google Maps directly.
The 11 questions to ask before paying
Copy-paste this list. Send it as a message. The way they answer — speed, specificity, willingness — tells you more than the price.
- Who will be performing? If you're talking to an agency, ask to speak with the actual performer. Get photos or videos of them, not just the company.
- What exactly is included? Duration, activities, walk-in-bubble finale yes or no, equipment, music, setup and pack-down.
- Do you have an Enhanced DBS check (UK) or background check (US)? Non-negotiable for entertainers working with children.
- Do you have public liability insurance? At least £1M / $1M coverage. Ask for proof and check the expiry.
- What's the total cost? Including travel, any add-ons, VAT/tax. Get it in writing.
- What do you need from us? Space, power outlets, water access, parking, indoor/outdoor.
- What ages is the show suitable for? Especially if you have a mixed-age guest list.
- Can you share recent reviews? Look on independent platforms — Google, Facebook, the directory you found them through.
- What's your cancellation policy? Refunds for weather, illness, etc.
- Do you provide a written contract? Date, time, fee, cancellation terms — all in writing.
- How do you handle bad weather or shy kids? A pro should have answers, not panic.
Red flags — when to walk away
- Slow or vague replies. If they take 3 days to answer "what's the price?", they'll be late on the day.
- No written contract. No exceptions.
- Prices dramatically below market. Usually means no insurance, no DBS, or no experience.
- Defensive about background-check or insurance documents. Walk away.
- Cash-only with no clear business structure. No invoice, no receipt — no deal.
- No website or only generic stock-image social posts. A working entertainer has real photos from real parties.
- Only generic 5-star testimonials without specifics. Real reviews mention names, dates, what went right or wrong.
- One-size-fits-all "we do the same show for everyone". Good entertainers tailor for age and group.

If you'd rather not trawl directories, drop your details below and we'll point you to specific platforms and pros based on your location and party. We don't take a commission, we don't share your data, and we'll be honest if your area is poorly served.
One last thing
The best entertainers are often booked 6 to 12 weeks out for weekends. If your party is in less than 4 weeks, widen your search to weekday slots or off-peak times — same performers, more availability.
